To Be United

In light of the recent terror attacks, I’ve written a small piece about the importance of unity and coming together.

To be united, how can we understand this?

Is it possible to unite

Through the relentless presence, pushing and punch of devastation?

Can we use this unity in a way that allows room for joy?

Fathomless terror shook the lifeless shells of the innocent.

Sorrow has engulfed the souls of the nation.

Restless dreams, nights of blackness.

Because as we continue, they

While we live, they do not.

Let us fight hurt with kindness,

Hatred with love,

Division with connection.

Live fearlessly, shamelessly, and with courage.
